37 students of the Department of Forensic Science, Faculty of Science joined a training at DFSS, Junga, HP on 11th December, 2019 for seven days. These students were divided into two groups and were sent to two different divisions, Forensic Biology and Serology and Forensic Chemistry and Toxicology. The students were briefed in detail about case opening procedures in both the divisions. In Forensic Biology and Serology, students were demonstrated about various tests used for body fluids such as blood, semen etc. Cases related to drowning, suicide and homicide were discussed. In Forensic Chemistry and Toxicology, students were demonstrated about cases related to alcohol, trap, pesticides, poisoning, fire and arson and petroleum adulteration. Students were also demonstrated various instrumental techniques used in case analysis such as GC-HS, UV-Visible, etc.
