Practice to Control Carbon Emission in Rural Areas

Lavoisier’s Association & American Chemical Society (ACS) International student chapter with community outreach, Faculty of Science organised Awareness program on “practice to control carbon emission in rural areas” at Village Karola, Gurugram on 30thApril 2022.

3 faculty members along with 10 students from Faculty of Science and Faculty of Agricultural Science were part of the team.

Students through presentation and demonstration mode spread awareness about carbon emission through various field activities. They interacted with villagers and talked about various practices which can be used to reduce carbon emission. Students talked about adverse effects of mass burning on health, environment and soil of agricultural lands. They provided information about various alternatives provided by government to minimise carbon emission in the Agricultural fields.

Villagers interacted and raised questions regarding management of crop residue which were thoroughly explained by the faculty members and students.

The activity was very successful. More than 30 villagers were present and they thanked SGTU for taking this initiative in there village and further request to arrange more session regarding different aspects.
